The book works on so many levels for me. The storyline is strong and believable, and like others have stated, it seems so real. I have an acquaintance who’s partner never returned from a ski-ing holiday, and consequently, all the loss and confusion had added resonance.
The author clearly has a love of language, and uses words so cleverly; taking us back and forth through time and places. The relationships are intriguing. I cared about the characters, and wanted to know more about them – I wasn’t disappointed.
I rarely read books more than once, but with this one I intend to return and relax into it more; to soak up the spirit of the book, and to marvel at Ms Morris’ talent. I look forward to reading future books by her.
