Who would have thought that a story about house hunting would be so riveting? Not me, but Roz Morris is an extremely talented author. Her prose is superb, her pacing impeccable, and her observations of places and human characters and their relationships and motivations is deep and beautifully portrayed. The placement of the story elements is an education in masterful structuring, teasing out the questions to keep you reading.
Reading one of Roz Morris’s books is always a delight and this didn’t disappoint. The book is both personal and collective in scope. I expect that anyone who has ever looked for a home to buy or rent will relate to this and enjoy the understated humour through which the author views their experiences.
